A CHRISTMAS GREETING
from
HOBBS, NEW MEXICO
A land where I am taller than the tree
And the wild jack rabbit is taller than me
Where scorpions dance on the kitchen floor
And sleep in the shoe left by the door
Where Christmas comes but once a year
And that thing under the tree leaves you in fear
Here's hoping your holiday season is happy and carefree
And nothing big and hairy crawls out from under your tree
