Photography - The Great Rocky Mountains, Colorado - 1986

I lived in Aurora, a suburb of Denver, Colorado for less than a year during the fall of 1985 to the spring of 1986. These images were taken on a tour of the area close to Breckenridge and Vale in the spring of 1986. There was snow everywhere, but it was 74ºF. There were people snow skiing in shorts. I was in awe.

We went on this trip with a wonderful friend of the family, Ruth Seveland. I will always remember her for her youth and daring at her very old age. Ruth lived in Aurora and helped us discover the city and the surrounding country while we were there. She took us to tiny gift shops and mountain retreats as well as helping us discover the museums, restaurants and theaters in downtown Denver.
