Prairie Dog

Prairie dogs are very hard to get a photo of without a really HUGE zoom lens. They are quick and they live underground in burrowed holes. The slightest sound or movement sends them scurrying for cover.

Prairie Dog

Tiny owls, like the one seen in the photo below, sit on the edge of the prairie dog burrows and wait for the doggies to come out. These owls are small enough to fit in your hand, if you could catch one. I am told they are called... Prairie Owls.
